Unhappy Chrome Mirror Cover Disappointment

Okay, I liked the Midwest mirror covers when I first saw them, but I wanted a twist...chrome! Well, I looked and looked and found them, or so I thought. They were made by Putco, part number 400001. Here's what I'm talking about:

They had a picture on their website and I saw it other places as well. I finally found a set and ordered them.

I was really excited about FedEx showing up with them today. The box comes, I open it up, and this is what I find:

Turns out that Putco has changed the product to be a full mirror cover instead of a half like the Midwest covers. The fit is good and the chrome quality is really nice, but it makes the mirrors look bigger. Is this just me? I'm disappointed, because I want chrome, but I decided to throw in the towel and ordered a set from Midwest in SS. I hope this helps anyone that was looking into these.

I really think that the half covers would have looked really good, but those full mirror covers just look kinda wonky.

I think that chrome in either style draws too much attention to an already poorly designed piece. Do they offer the same full cover in a colormatch version?

If you really dont like them (which is understandible), find someone ot shoot them in Satin Silver and see how you like that. It's better than never using them at all.

I wish someone would make a kit that would eliminate the big side mirrors and let us mount smaller ones on the door. I know a member on this forum did that and it looked great, wish I could remember who it was so I could point people to what I'm talking about.

I don't know if it's from the same company, but I found mine on ebay.
