Want a wiring harness extension for your fog lights? Need Delphi parts.

For anyone who has or is planning on relocating their fog lights and you don't want to splice into your factory wires AND you don't have an extension already these are the connectors you will need:

Male connector: (plugs into the stock wiring harness) Delphi # 12084167
Female connector: (plugs into the fog light bulb) Delphi # 12059183

You also need the terminals, seals, and wire, but those won't be any big deal to get now that I have the right connectors.

Now you just need to find where you can buy those exact Delphi parts. There are a ton of replacement parts out there that are very similar to these connectors, but you need an exact match to the factory connectors to keep from cutting up your factory harness.

So who knows where we can buy Delphi brand parts?

Well I have almost all the parts now. A guy at Delphi was kind enough to send me a few "samples" and he included the male housings, all the pins, the little blue "fasteners"... everything... except the female housings.
I've emailed him and asked him to send the rest of the parts, but I haven't heard back from him in over a week so it looks like I might be S.O.L.

I have all the part numbers for the pins, etc if anyone knows where to buy them... in small quantities. I don't need 100 of them.

Stangnut, keep us updated on how it is going in getting the required parts. I'm sure alot of us here would like to get out hands on those adapters so we can make some extentions.

Those are Delphi Packard Weather-Pack connectors. I just found them in my Waytekwire.com catalog.

Or, they could be the Metri-Pack connectors. Either way, Waytek carries the things, as long as it isn't a proprietary OEM'd Ford part. Maybe send them a picture?

I think I already contacted them, but I'll try tomorrow just to make sure.
Thanks.

Just called.
They don't have them and can't special order them unless I order 1000.

Here are all the part numbers in case anyone's interested:

Male Connector: 12084167
Female Connector: 12059183
Terminals: 12077411
Locks: 12059185
Seals: 12015323

Just add some wire, solder, & wire loom and you've got yourself a set of extensions.

Can we get 1000 TMS'ers that want to get in on a group buy.

LOL! I wish. We can't even get that many people to look at this thread.

Mike from SSE says they will be selling the extension eventually, but I'm sure that won't be until they catch up on all the orders they're going to have for their new center fog grille.

Have you tried a GM dealership? Those have been used in the same scenario in Chvy's for a while now. Maybe even a junkyard item.

It says their "feature" product is GM pigtails. Sounds to me like they'll make anything you ask for. I'm willing to give it a shot. The worst they can do is say no... like everyone else. I'll call tomorrow.

If you are going to cut and splice these two harness connector end kits together to extend your harnesses, why not just extend the factory harness? It seems to me that unless you plan on returning your lamps to factory config, you are kind of going through a bit too much expense to achieve your desired result.

Jason, when I was looking up the part #'s above, I found that GM has been using those plugs for their fog lamps for several years now. That means the parts are available somewhere. I hope you have better luck finding those than I am with finding the various connectors in the Shaker audio system. I've found 4 different manufacturers, and only one sells in the US to end-users. The other three are commercial-only Chinese parts.

Thanks. Maybe I'll have some luck with AZ. Called today, but could only leave a message.

Called yesterday. Actually talked to a person this time. He said he'd have to look into it and he would call me back.
Big surprise. Haven't heard back. I'll call again Monday.
