Chin Spoiler/Spliter Inquiry

I have always thought that the CDC classic chin spoiler looked the best IMO, but after seeing a few in person I am having second thoughts about buying one. I am concerned about damaging it on a parking stop or a speed bump. (especially after I lower the car an inch) Does anyone know if theres a spoiler out there that keeps approximately the same plane and does not hang down much?

I bought and modified the oem GT500 splitter, I've learned to not pull all the way up when I pull in to a parking space, and if for some reason I do and it's damaged I can replace it for under $70.00.

Give the CDC Classic another chance, no matter what you do you will always have to be aware of the curbs.

Bill, was the modification a pita? I've read that you need to cut a couple sections out so that it will sit flush. Did you use the exsisting mounting points?

I have had the CDC classic for about 3 years. I had had it repainted twice and did it one time myself. Two of the times is was my fault (******* attack) and once I hit a pipe sticking out of asphalt at night. I have thought about removing it but IMO for an otherwise stock body, it looks "just right".

Iceman,

if that ur car in avatar, paint it flat black with rattle can and touchups are a breeze
the CDC spoiler is somewhat forgiving.

The CDC classic chin spoiler looks like it is supposed to be on a stock mustang, it just looks right.

Nice grilles by the way Bill!

I like my Astra Hammond (Wilpack) spoiler. I had a CDC classic spoiler on an '06 I used to own and I had to do some touch up a couple of time before I sold the car. Clearance was a problem and my car was stock height. No problems with the Astra spoiler so far. It has better ground clearance and already comes in a textured black finish. It is a good compromise between a splitter and spoiler. I got mine on sale from Ninosports.

I have the CDC classic chin spoiler but if I had it to do over again I would have bought the SHR/Legend splitter. I think it looks better.

+1 on the SHR Legend. I'm just waiting to find a used one, etc that I can afford.

Does it come ready to install or require paint? If paint, how much prep?

Also, which emblem did you use on your grill and where did you get it? Looks kind of like the 66 shelby.

Needs lots of prep and also needs to be painted. I don't remember where I got the emblem but I believe it's a side emblem (metal) for a 65/66 Mustang.
