The shaker may look small on that hood but so did all of the old school shaker systems. The car show I entered had a few late 60's/early 70's cars with shakers and the CDC is not much different.

I stopped by a local Mustang Restoration business and borrowed an old '69 / '70 Cobra Jet style (non functional) scoop and set it on my hood yesterday, just to see how it looked.

Certainly not a shaker, but not bad. Not bad at all...

What do you plan on cutting your hood with?

I just can't believe how good it looks. It looks very OEM. So far I am impressed by the perceived quality, fit, and finish. I can hardly wait until I can order mine. Hopefully, someone will put one on a Mineral Grey so i can drool some more.

Wow. That yellow car is how I've been picturing my MG to look when I'm finished. These cars are perfect for bringing back older styles.

:bang: just called CDC since I had not received a tracking number yet. They said mine had not shipped yet. They ran out of air filters so mine should be going out today. I told the person "I wish I knew that earlier because I don't need the air filter". Anyway, I might not have mine for the weekend. :bang:

Keeping my fingers crossed that it arrives on Friday. I am debating as to whether or not I want to keep it black or paint it to match my stripes

I think you should keep it black. Unless you paint the whole unit so when you open the hood it's colored in there too.

I'd keep it black, I've never seen one painted and can't imagine it looking better

well you guys talked me into keeping it black. Besides, it is cheaper than having it painted and I can get to work installing it once it arrives

I have been out in the garage "test fitting" the shaker assembly on the engine. I have run into one minor problem... it won't fit properly with the throttle body spacer installed.

The shaker uses the top two bolts of the throttle body as it's attachment points. And with the TBS in there, the bolt locations are 1" farther forward in the engine compartment. Using the bolts in this location will cause the shaker to be misaligned with the hole in the hood (not good). So, I think I have two options: (1) eliminate the TBS, or (2) fabricate a new mounting bracket which will fit under the shaker, and extends 1" longer than what is there now. I may need to go with Option 1 temporarily until I can make Option 2.

adrenalin, have you considered painting the whole shaker assembly sonic blue? I agree with not painting the stripe on the shaker, but having a colored shaker could make you stand out even more than you already do. I'm just wondering if having the black, blue, and white on the hood would be too busy.
