Back after too long, need ideas/advice
So I was without a Mustang for a few years but that changes Saturday. I got a
06 Tungsten Mustang GT. Not sure if I want to do window louvers but if I do, what
is the best looking brand? 10" wide racing stripes? If so, satin silver (TL) or black stripes?
What brand cold air intake? I know, lots of questions but I've been out of it for too
long. Any pictures would help.

Thanks for the info. I have a friend who is getting a 2011 V6 Premium so I want to bump up the power a bit but not too much and have some nice looking exterior changes but I won't do too much. I'll look up the silverhorse louvers, thanks!

Silver Horse louvers are definitely the way to go. Like Colby said, if you want LeMans stripes, 10" w/a 1" gap. Black will look good, but I vote for silver stripes. C&L Racer CAI and Bama (American Muscle) tune, hands down.

I heard about the Steeda CAI and the SCT XCalibrator 3, anyone know someone who got this
combo?
Is it true that almost any CAI for these cars requires a re-program? K&N doesn't say anything
on their webpage.

Most CAIs do require a reprogram. The ones that don't won't get you near the power gains. And the tune is truly what brings these cars to life. Spend the extra and get some custom tunes and good tuner, like the SCT X3.

not too much power?.... intake and exhaust mods for starters.
side window louvers look nice, but it really depends on the look you're going for. I think they clash with the stock GT spoiler or any pedestal spoiler.

It's looking like Steeda CAI and a SCT XCalibrator 3 reprogram first. Well Tint and stripes first.
I'm going to see how it looks with the tint before I think about louvers.
Exhaust will be later and yes, more air in needs better flow out so I'll get the exhaust done later.
I got the car for $14K with 45,000 miles on it and it looks great (one ding and one annoying
scratch) so I want to get a good tune-up, transmission service, fuel filter, etc.

John, congrats on getting your Stang! ...and welcome back!
I've been debating stripes for my car for awhile, but I do know that if you plan to do them yourself, a lot of people have been happy with Baltimore Street Mods, so that's a website to check for stripes if you are going to do them. I also agree with the above statement about louvers...depending on what look you are going for can determine if you want louvers and even if you do, which style. It's good to have an overall vision first, so that you can limit doing a mod and then redoing it with a slightly different variant (although difficult to prevent, once you have been bitten by the mod bug).

Yeah, the mod bug is dangerous. My 97GT had every bolt on performance part
minus a supercharger. It's actually in the photo gallery representing 1997.

The stripes I'm thinking 10" or 10.5" wide with a one inch gap. Black. The quesion I'll probably
post in the "stripes" thread is "paint or stick-ons". Paint would look better but cost more and
it can chip and scratch, sticker looks good and can be replaced a section at a time as needed.
