I'm getting ready to do MrWick's Foglight mod and wanted to get some pointers / tips before I go drilling into my grille.

Is there anything I need to know? Like special hole saw to use?

Also, what size hole saw should I use? 4"? 5"?

How did you get the foglight to stay? Any sort of special brackets I need to get?

Lastly, how hard was it to remove the grille?

Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend drilling your grill. Crossroadz Direct ( http://www.crossroadzdirect.com ) has a V6 to GT grill conversion kit. Of course, it's $370, although you can probably find it cheaper once it becomes more readily available. At least you'll have your stock grill and also no chance of messing up the front of your car. This is just an option for those of you with V6's wanting the fog lights. Here are some pics...

And also, I have a GT and am going to get the CDC billet grill. I would be willing to sell my GT grill with fog lights and wiring (so that you can wire it to the existing lights or to a seperate switch that you can mount in the car) for half of what they are selling it for. If anyone is interested in buying my grill and lights, let me know.

That gap under the GT grille installed on a V6 is way too noticeable.

Anyone know why Ford made them different ?

I'm pretty sure that's a combination of shadows and bad installation. It's not a gap as much as it's the grill is pushed out too far. I'm sure if installed right, the grill would look fine on a V6.

The grills are not that hard to get out once you figure out how they are being held in.A couple of small screw drivers and a gentle push or two and they it is out.The Gt grill does not fita V6 all that well so I would use the V6 grill for he fog lights. If it turns out like crap just get a new V6 grill. There have been a few on ebay for about $60.00 and they are about 100.00 from ford.A GT grill from ford with the fog lights is about 300.00 not counting some other misc. parts you might need. Some ford dealers a doing the upgrade for $1000.00.I would rather screw up a grill or two before paying thm a grand.I did my V6 and it looks great as far as I am concerned and I only have 70.00 invested counting the 34.00 for the remote switch to control the lights.
