Anyone use black rockers?

Have any GT owners swapped the color matched rockers for v6 black rockers? I am considering this mod as well as the GT/CS Shelby rear cover painted black on the bottom(similar to the Shelby). If anyone has done this, I would love to see the pics!

I'd like to see some pics too. I used to have black rocker panels on my Rio Red '96. I think it made the car look a little sleeker.

I just posted these in another thread. Not sure if it was yours or not.
Did this about a year ago when we first started seeing pics of the pre-production Shelby. I think it was AFBlue that came up with the idea.

I LOVE the look since it makes the car look sleeker. The '05+ design has just always looked fat to me. Also, they are a LOT easier to clean and to keep clean.

Thanks. The rockers are from a V6 and they're unpainted. The rear lip is painted flat black with a gloss topcaot giving it a semi-gloss look.

Yes, there is another thread going on this subject. StangNut, your car looks really good that way. But, I'm still on the fence with doing that. Maybe what you did was a good idea. I could get the V-6 rockers, try them out, and if you don't like them go back to the originals. (That is if the price is not too outlandish).

Should be able to pick up a used set for $50-$100.
New they are about $100 each.

I picked up a set of takeoffs, painted black deltron, 'flexed and flat' bumper semigloss clearcoat- and they came out glossy...the paint guy said mix 50/50 flat with the dbu clear , that didnt work, so shot straight flat, and its still too glossy ...I painted the lip of the spiltter, and the lip of the rear valence too. 'myltlpony' did his first, mines a 'copycat' I guess- but he did gloss, I still hope to get a flat clear and reshoot mine whenever I get around to doing something with the hood...

I considered doing this on my Perf white convertible. I decided against it based solely on the more finished and clean look of the body color rockers. It does help to give it a thinner looking body profile but other than that, I personally don't think it adds anything unless you are are going for the sleeper 6 cyl. look.

To each his own I guess. That's why they offer options! Everyone has different tastes!
