Any One Know About Tint?

Let me just bring you guys on the tinting journey with me.

I got blue tint from where I work. (Advance Auto Parts mind you.) And I installed it on my front windows and two side windows. First time ever doing tint so I did mess up a little. Had to redo one window. Installer error, I wrinkled the tint. Well, all thats fine and dandy, and looks pretty nice for a first time job. But the rear window is obviously what I am having problems with. Well the tint I got is not wide enough to cover the whole rear window, but I have an idea. However I need to know if it will work, me not being a tint expert. I was planning on cutting my blue tint into a flame pattern coming from the bottom, then placing 35%ish black tint that is wide enough over the whole window and tint setup. However from the few people I have talked to, they have informed me that tint cannot stick on tint. It will fall off. If that is true then my next option will be to cut an opposite flame design and match it to the blue one.

My main question is if any one knows about tint not being able to stick to tint or if it is doable. My side question would be how do you guys think a the blue with black opposite matching flames would look? Thanks guys.

They are correct, tint will not stick to tint. (at least not for long)

Only you can decide if the black/blue combo works for you.

Have you tried layering in strips of blue tint for your rear window? It's hard for me to believe the tint rolls (or sheets) aren't large enough to span your rear window.

More info on the size you are working with?

I'm pretty sure the tint has to be on the inside.

Not so sure of the "two tone" tint idea but please post pics when you get it done!

Mojo: you have more guts than I did (or patience). There is NO WAY I would try to apply tint to my back window. I would be more apt to try to install a Whipple than that big sheet of tint... It was a no brainer for me to pay a tint shop to put mine on. You mentioned your black was 35%. I have 35 on my side windows (state max legal limit) and 5% on the back and rear sides. I honestly think now I would have been happier with 20 on the back window but I don't think 35 would have been enough... just my opinion btw... I do think the blacked out rear window looks cool from the outside...
