He's talking about the base, not the antenna. Both of ours have the 8" shorty antenna. Looks great. But I agree, the base is too large. The silver piece would definitely make it stick out more. You could probably pull it off and have it painted to match. That might not be so bad. If you really hate it, have it shaved and get an antenna put in your rear window.

They are typically for GPS/Sat radio, not so much FM. I kinda hate them. They are now showing up on the Taurus. I figure down the road if I get any paintwork done I will get mine shaved and put in an amped antenna in the a pillar. I've kinda just forgotten about the antenna, other then when peeps tell me how cool the little chopped one is..

I got rid of the antenna completely and hd the hole filled in. It came out pretty nice
