1960's gas cap modded to fit 06' Gt
#1
I have ordered one of these 65-73 gas caps, and plan on shaving the back flat to make it fit a 06' Gt.
Do yall think it will work? I was going to use 3M tape, and just stick it on the rear panel. My Gt is all blacked out, and this seems like it will look great!!!!! Ideas welcome, Thanks

It might. Only problem I can see is that you'd cover up the keyhole for the trunk. Who makes that? I know Scott Drake has a few different designs, maybe they've got something that'll work?

As long as the paint isn't damaged, you can put it just below the keyhole.
Otherwise, you could just cover the keyhole up and use the remote
I think it may be a stretch though to cover both the locating holes and they key hole on the decklid with the medallion

It will fit, but I don't think it will look right. Aftermarket decklid badges are made specifically to fit the contour of the decklid. It's not a flat piece.

It's made by Scott Drake, and costs about $80. As for the contour, I held a 4" tile to the back area, and the contour is so little that I think 3m tape would fill the gap. I hope to leave the key hole exposed!!!!
