It means no deep dish unless it's just for show, I guess, because you would loose the new improved rear end to get the deep/wide rims. Or possibly, you could acquire a beefed up pre '05 third member assembly and swap things out. If money was not an object, where there's a will, there's a way.
But it's my understanding that the new cars pretty much from now on will be like the '05 and maybe we are trying too hard for the retro ('60's) look. We do have one beautiful car as she stands. Any way, the possibility does exist.

You can have the illusion of deep dish rims, not on a torq style however, the spokes are to thick to move. Look at Bryan's for example, and how the spokes curve in toward the lip, but are out for a modern offset.

I think those look great and I like the new style also. I think they blend very well with the '05 styling. I am sure as time goes on, the wheel manufacturers will come up with a host of new products that compliment the new cars in different ways.
