18" rims difficult to fit on 07?!

So, the dealership where i placed an order for my GT at, calls me up and says there might be a slight problem with the 18" premium rims i had ordered with them, because they're on back order. I told him to cancel that option altogether as i can probably get them on Ebay. I wont the bid on 18" fanblades, i know not the premium ones as i couldnt find them and right after i won the bid i found 4 listings with chrome bullits), anywho fanblades are nice i like them) but here's my question. The 2007 models are coming with tire pressure monitoring system, i know there was a discussion on this before but nothing actually drew a conclusion on that topic. Is it easy to fit the 18" rims on the 07 gts by not tampering too much with the tire pressure monitoring unit?

ive read before that you have to remove the tire pressure monitor and put it on the new wheels, no problem doing that. i dont know if you have to recalibrate them or anything..

The '07 has TPMS? Is that on all wheels? Wondering if I'm going to have a problem since the dealer screwed up and didn't order my Fanblades, instead I'm getting the 17" bullitts. I'm trying to get them to get some blades from one of their stock cars, but all they have now are '06's, so if they don't have the monitors, and the ones from the 17" won't transfer, I might have a problem. Anyone know for sure? Is it on all '07's, or just on the 18" wheels?

It's all '07 wheels for all cars. Government regulation.

Ok, thanks. I just hope they can make things right for me, since they screwed up.

How difficult is it to just remove the monitoring system and reinstall it anyways?

Remember it was posted that there's a hose clamp-like strap that's specific to the different wheel sizes so one from a 17" wheel won't fit an 18". Also, if the wheels come from a 2006 it won't have the device at all.

There's also a TPMS system that's mounted in the valve stem so it isn't wheel specific. Does anyone know for sure which one Ford is using?

When i put bigger tires & rims on my '04 Acura MDX, the MDX has the TPMS in the valve stem. I ordered the tires & rims from the Tire Rack. They came mounted with the TPMS valve stem installed. I just put them on the MDX and started driving, no problems at all.

The owners manual (2007) shows a picture of a rim with the strap on type of monitor, and says the device goes 180 degrees away from the valve stem.

I'll have to get them to get the straps for the 18" rims if I want to do that.
