I have seen some companies offer 11inch wide rims for the 05, but has anyone tried to go that wide?? And if there is a right offset will they fit without sticking out from the fender? Thanks in advance.

sticking our of the fender won't be your only concern, there could be clearance issues from inside the wheel well housing.

I have 18x9.5" all around - let me tell you I wouldn't feel comfortable going much larger in the front. I kow Roush is running 10" but that has to be close. My tire is pretty close to the strut. I can barely get my finger in between.

I was measured for the wheels I have on order and the widest I could go was 10.25 inches for the back.

One things I wish Ford would have done for the Stang was make it possible to have a deep dish wheel without it sticking all the way out like it does. You cant even have sn95 bullitts without having them stick out of the fender.

It is because the axles are wider than before, and the ends of each axle are closer to the outside of the car. Im not sure, but I think this does help with the suspension geometry by allowing the springs to be closer to the outside.

They can always add a wider body to accomodate, and flares that stick out about an inch farther (nothing too crazy)
This will alow a nice deep lip while keeping the axles the same length. Maybe for a future model?

18x9.5" .... I've been seeing a lot of that. I assume you could do that with a drop of 1.5 or 2 right?

Yeah- Brian you can still drop it. My wheels are still snug inside the fender.

Without any special mods, I think 285's are about as big as you're going to get in there.

I've got 18x10 with 285's on the rear. I have 1/4" space from the inside of the rim to the inside of the wheelwell. The outside of the rim is even with the wheelwell. I think you can get away with 295's but that would be it, however if you drop your car like I did it would definately rub.

H&R claimed to have shoehorned an 11" wide rim on the back with 305's.
