Ray Man, I saw your pony installation tips (and admired your car!) well before I did my partial conversion, and it's the main reason I decided to spend the money. Thanks for the motivation! Your car is one of the nicest around, just right, smartly modified, but not overdone. I'll be keeping up with your continued updates and progress.

I used a pony from a Mach grille delete kit. I already had it left over from my last Mustang. Anyway, it's a two piece affair with studs, and has a metal backing that comes off if you remove the speed nuts. I drilled holes in the metal backing and added two big threaded bolts, and put it back together with the heads inside the assembly. I then used washers and nuts to hold it onto the grille much as you have done.

After several months of spirited driving, it has stayed in place and is staying tight. If it had not come out right, I was going to copy your method exactly, if I could find the right horse emblem. I think this one is someplace in between the size of your pony and the size the car came with, but that's just a guess by looking at images.

Happy to help! The Shelby conversion is a wonderful thing.

Personally love the pony emblem on my cobra fascia.... it looks so much better than the cobra emblems .... i used the 2007 emblem because it's a lot bigger than all the other pony emblems and it looks perfect.... only thing is that it doesnt lie perfectly flat on the grill and somone could very easily pull it and brake it.... other than that its awsome!

So can you just put on the front bumper and grille without changing the hood ? For cost reasons I would like to do this little bit at a time. Is there a complete parts/price list needed for this ? Also, will this work on a V6 ??

Thanks !!

There Are Lots Of Examples in this Forum of Conversions which used a Stock Or other Style Flat Lip Hood. Ck it out! And V6's Too! I have Sold Lots of V6 Kits. For Pricing Simply Send Email to clevparts@aol.com put Hotsheets in the Subject line! I see you are In canada So Unless you have a US Ship to Address it Would Be Better To Buy Local. I can Assist you with the Info if Needed!

Getting Closer ... after an $11,000 worth of body work wreck ... it's starting to look pretty good ... Kevin supplied the GT 500 parts and many of the collision repair parts as well ...

Wow, that's gonna look unbelievably sick when it's finished, and screaming yellow is just going to make it pop! I just wished the dealer had a yellow 'stang when I got mine last year.

It won't be long now before you have her back.

It Would Not Look Right on a Non 500 Fascia.
