What I like best about this RCF hood is that the "nostril" are a bit further back on the hood than other KR style hoods I've seen. For instance, the new Trufiber GT500 hood has these intakes at the very front lip of the hood, which in my opinion takes away from the whole GT500 front end.

 

Just a quick question: Does the spoiler on the GT500 front fascia need to be painted? I don't think so, but just to be sure.

mhk... the lip is flat black, not sure if it comes that way or not.

 

it's the same finish as the v6 rocker panels.

it's the color of the plastic. to get a nice black shine, use the meguires plastic detailing spray. works great

 

I'm actually selling my 68 style hood. listing is in the classified section!

 

After 3 years of owning my GT it was time for a facelift. Probably one of the only few(if not the only one) conversions here in Holland. Everything went smooth thanks to KC. Parts, goodies and delivery time were 100% perfect.

I bet your parts get here faster than the shelby super snake hood do...
by the way, I inquired at Shelby about the price of the Super Snake Stripes, I was told that they are having a meting this week and they the kits will be on offer very soon, he predicted the price to be around $1'400. what the hell are they smoking there at Shelby lol
couldn't find them at the vendor you mentioned to me so suppose I'll have to get them done at a local body wrap shop.

Yeah, mine is pretty much completed also KC! It's in the shop getting the new painted parts blended to the car. After that I just need to put some stripes on her, but I'll post some pics before that. Thanks for everything

$1400 just for the stripes? You could have them painted for less than that

I dunno what they're smoking, but it must be exceptionally powerful.

Finally got my conversion done yesterday. Daylight pics coming soon.

 

Got a few offers in from Body Shops, one company seems to do great work and offered me for $3500 painting of parts including fitting of side scoops, complete dismantling of parts, bumper, front fascia, rockers, hood and replacing all with the new Shelby parts (lights and all).

They would also blend in the fenders to the new hood and apply Super Snake stripes in red with clear coat (have a red interior on a performance white car). Also offer life time warranty and says the work will be show quality (one can only hope).
Seems like a good deal here in Rochester NY.
