It may be true, but this article provides no proof other than he said she said.

Chuck Person was here waay before Dwight and his closest relationship was with MWP. One of his jobs was essentially to keep him in check.
I know it provides no proof, but with everything that has happen, it's really not surprising.

Fair enough. I just can't stand ESPN and their drama filled TMZ style reporting without an ounce of proof or stating that it is speculation.

Agreed. The community was so much more professional back then. Sports these days is a lot more "reality show" ala jersey shore or some crap like that

I don't ever remember the media having such an effect on the NBA, til about 2000 or 2001 season. When they really started dressing up allstar game.

I remember they had the finals game. They got down to business and no dramatic stage events

Remember the NBA on NBC? That was awesome for the playoffs/finals.

It all went downhill when ABC/ESPN/Disney took over. They promote players over teams, and entertainment over basketball.

When they started minimizing the game on screen to bring up another window with some celebrity or player's wife to interview DURING THE GAME, I knew it was the end.

Yes NBC, that I think ended after 2001. That was great times,

Oh celebrities should stay in their own world, I used to like the allstar weekend, but now the celebs have infiltrated and turned it into about themselves, show and drama. IMO,

I liked the ones in 90s where basically you had the dream team playing against eachother. They were serious about the game but had fun in process.. Ah good times

I've often wondered if the NBA should adopt MLB's policy of setting home court for the Finals depending on the outcome of the All-Star game. I think that would make the all-star game a LOT more interesting.

It would, isn't it whoever has the best record or seed gets the home court now?

Yup. But for the last few years the East has only had 1 or 2 teams that were elite. It's much tougher to have a good record in the West. So it's sort of unfair

Yea it is, that's something I can't figure out, the east you could be under .500 by few games and make 8th seed. And in west you can be 5-10 games over and not make it at all. Why is that?

Oh just read this on yahoo, I know it's just talk, but knowing Phil, he's pretty open to anything

Because you only have to play teams in the opposite conference twice per year, whereas you play teams in your own conference either 4 or 3 times. So a team like the Heat plays 2 more games per year vs bottom dwellers like the Raptors, Magic, etc instead of the Spurs, OKC, etc

And Phil going to MLB would surprise me, but I do know he wants a front office role somewhere. He basically wants to make personnel moves w/o bothering w/ contract negotiations and cap rules and such

Jackson looks young compared to how old he looked in the 90s.

So vinny del negro was supposedly fired today. I don't understand he led them to franchise best wins of 57, 17 game win streak, won their division and he still gets canned. What more can the guy do..
