8-2. That was brutal. I agree I think Forsberg is done. No one is going to take a chance on him after he waited a whole year, said he was ready, and then got hurt almost immediately. Come on. And that's probably the reason the Avs weren't in it to begin with, injuries all over the place.

Not sure what the Rangers excuse is yet. San Jose is making it's usual choking noises. Not sure if there's a heart stat for players anywhere, but San Jose forgot to buy that part. You've actually got to want to win, even if you have the most talented team in the NHL...

However again, Philly fans, I'd expect some major damage from Pittsburgh, looking at what they're doing to NY, and NY is loaded with talent.
As a native of Philly and Flyers fan, I admit I thought Montreal was the end of the road for them (still could be). What's exciting is that I remember from what the 'Canes (I live in NC now) did a few years back that you don't have to be the best team or best talent to win the Cup. It was fun to watch the Canes' exceed expectations every playoff game and actual seal the deal in game 7 to win the Cup. I'd love it if the Flyers did the same thing this year.

My Flyers, as with all Philly sports teams, haven't been able to finish in years that they are one of the favored teams. It's unusual in their history for them to be such a huge underdog in the playoffs (dead last in the league last year). Maybe that's what they needed to inspire them - it's a Philly thing. Go Flyers!

Colorado did have a lot of guys out, but they really didnt play THAT bad. Detroit put on a freakin clinic and absoluteloy ripped apart every mistake they made. I thought before that pittsburgh might be able to give em a run, but after last night im left thinking that the only thing thatll stop the wings is the wings.

And as for the flyers/habs, ill comment on that when i get my foot out of my mouth.

Just goes to show, you never know what's going to happen. I would have sworn NY/Pittsburgh was going to be a battle, a definite 7 gamer for sure. Who saw NY dropping the first three games like that?

I think you're right Scott, the wings team is good enough to compete with anyone out there, they are usually their own determining factor. And what's up with Franzen??? My god!

I'll admit, I'm not a Flyers fan. But I think even if they don't go much further in the playoffs this year, you're going to see them doing well for quite a while. They have a MUCH better team than two years ago. They look like they've replenished themselves quite nicely, and Briere is really starting to become the factor they hoped he would be.

Now if only they can fix my Senators in the off season...
