jwenger, congrats on your purchase of a fine vehicle.

Hayburner, chill out. Although this board is Mustang biased, all posters are welcome until they start becoming a nuisance by antagonizing the other posters. please respect other people's opinions and viewpoints. He did not come on here to hail all corvettes and doom all mustangs. He has been waiting on the Cobra as long as the rest of us have, he just ran out of patients and fears the markups. I am sure you have a lot to contribute to this site without fighting with everyone. It seems that each thread you visit ends up an argument with someone.
So here's a guy who pays his $15 and now he thinks he's a mediator.
Painting with a bit of a broad brush aren't ya there Kevbo? Read my 163 posts before you appoint yourself a judge...if you feel so strongly you could have sent a PM. Nah...too discrete.

Now that makes more sense. However, your post was not at all clear on it. When arkangel replied, he marked your comment about the non-Shelby GT500 in bold, directing his reply at that. And so when you replied to him, quoting what he said, and said you had it in writing, I assumed it was in reference to the part he had called you on (the part in bold).

Having a purchase agreement to buy at MSRP when the car becomes available makes perfect sense, that I can easily believe.
No worries...are you on any lists yet?

Hayburner, dude. Chill out. I'm not list mom either, but I've noted the same caustic tone, and that you've often caused conflict where there need be done. There's a difference between advocating Mustangs and attacking everyone that doesn't bleed little blue ovals. And when have you sent PM's on your feelings towards others, instead of getting caustic publicly? Then you're going to whine when others reflect a fraction of that? Seriously, mellow. People are here because they like Mustangs; but that doesn't mean they can't like other cars too, want more features/options than Ford is giving us, or get piqued that deliver is slow or units too limited, and so on. Not every gripe about Ford or decision to buy something else a personal attack on your manhood.

Oh my...still hurting from that other thread, huh? Understandable.

It's a forum and, last I checked, still a free country except for the college campuses.

I'm sorry Dave.I'll try to be more sensitive...all better now?

Apology accepted. Just try to cut people some slack. I did a quick scan of your posts; and there were bunches that ended with pretty snippy comments like:

Mark...you're a little wierd about being the first to know. P.S....ever have an unexpressed thought

disparaging remarks....would ANYTHING make you happy? You haven't even seen one in reality and you complain.Talk about a bunch of spoiled ingrates!

No problem Jim..ignorance is bliss, right? Go ahead and be critical..no offence.Be blissfully ignorant then.

And so on... It is a free country and you can say as stupid of things as you want to. (No one is trying to stop that). But free speech cuts both ways; i.e. it is free for others to say, "mellow out dude".

You had a couple posts where you talked about the benefits of the Vette. Then someone else picked one up because they were tired of waiting, and you give them a ration for that? Don't take it out on others just because you had some weather delay, or got bumped back to second seat -- last I checked we all were here because we had at least some interest in Mustangs.

another case in point. my message to you was to be helpful. I am not a moderator, but, have been on this board since well before the crash (note the member number). I have seen many like you come and go. The attitude here is friendly and helpful. The ones that see that stick around. The ones that don't sooner or later wear out their welcome and no one gives them respect anymore.

Go back and read the threads you have participated in. I bet a higher percentage of those contain at least one post that has caustic remark in it. I'm not going to get caught in one of your keyboard-flexing arguments. Take what I said and do what will with it, it was only friendly advice. If you must be antagonistic, go where that tone is welcomed.

Alas,poor Dave. So easily offended.
I never gave anybody "a ration" for buying a Vette. Or a BMW for that matter.Matter of fact, I said I was glad he liked his Vette..
There is a chance you may be taking this all a little too seriously. Also, that was the strangest way of accepting an apology I've read so far. Perhaps you can take your own advice and "chill out, dude"?

Once again, you can have the last word. Let's try a little harder this time."You
can say as stupid of things as you want"(an English teacher would cringe).

Since you offered the last word, again... I'll take it. again.

First, I'm not offended. And most people don't consider me easy to offend. So I'm correcting you to give you the opportunity to learn. You seem to go away mad whenever people do that. Hmmm...

Second, is possible that I'm taking things too seriously... if so, I apologize... but when a guy offers up his spot in Cobra line to someone, and mentions the specs on his alternative purchase, I'd tend to take responses like, "Is there a [better] forum for that sort of thing..." as a bit of a snippy quip. To me (and I'm sure some others), it felt like a "just go away" sort of thing -- even if you didn't mean it as such. So telling someone "glad for your purchase, now go away" seems uncalled for -- or a ration (to me). If you didn't mean it as much, you could have taken the high road, tried to understand why others responded as they did, and then clarify or say "mea culpa" instead of taking a defense that calls everyone else overly sensitive.

Third, as for the BMW, you said I should go buy a Caddy because I wanted better suspension, and some more creature comforts like heated seats, sunroof/target, better weight distro, lighter, and so on. So from what I've read, you have a bit of a trend of attacking anyone that doesn't agree with your exact interpretation of perfection. I don't really care that much about myself (I feel I can defend myself), but it does getting a little grating seeing a gift horse (a spot in Cobra line) being sniped at.

As for an accepting apologies, i try to reflect the tone of others. Even your last reply threw subtle barbs around like being critical of grammar, or saying that I'm just soft-skinned because you say things that others seem to take as caustic -- great way to own up and apologize yourself. Your original apology seemed questionably sincere with "still hurting from the other thread? Understandable", and the always lame first amendment defense for being rude, and finishing with "all better now?". So I clarified the point with some examples, that you seem to either not get or ignore. But hopefully, these clarifications will sink in. To me, and some others, some of your posts come across as abrasive. In the spirit of friendly advice, if you don't pepper your comments with little quips, they are less likely to be taken as caustic. (Which you claim is the spirit in which they are given). And apologies that say, "sorry, I didn't mean it the way that you took it" work much better than ones peppered with rationalizations, defenses or barbs. Don't you think? (You noticed it when I did it, but not in your own posts).

I give you the last word and that was all you had? Geez...I would have thought you were trying to hurt my feelings if I weren't laughing so hard. Thanks for all the great advice, tho. Now we know what BMW drivers are muttering to themselves all the time.

C'mon...try again. This time without the psycho-babble about somebody you've never met.Make it a bit shorter so you won't be late for your "civil union" ceremony. I promise I won't respond this time ...no matter how funny it is.

Once again, you demonstrate that your word doesn't mean much, and you look for attacks where there are none, while ignoring your own words. Then make snippy comments like my attacks are weak/gay, and so on. (As if my goal in life is to hurt some trolls feelings). I don't feel the need to claim that your parents were brothers, or other lame attacks -- I just offered some observations on the civility of your responses -- and based on your response, it seems to have gone over your head. I especially enjoyed the stereotyping of all BMW drivers by my response (as if a whole yuppie cult follows my every word). [sigh] You win... what you won, I'm not sure -- but it seems to matter a lot to you. l8tr.

WTF??? I really like you guys. I have been on this board a long time and most of you are pretty cool guys with good attitudes . I saw a chance to get a great car(ZO6) numbers speak for themselves. At a great price and in excellent shape. I live Mustangs and have owned some great ones. It's just when you see something go for it or it'll be gone to someone else. I will continue to post and follow the Shelby saga. Props to Crazyhorse And Hayburner, you are entitled to your opinion. Everything is cool

Jwenger, nice buy and I am sure you will enjoy it. I have had my 05 GT on ordr since March...not long compared to some peoples wait....but the last week I have been thinking hard about canceling the order and saying to heck with it untill the Shelby comes out. I know the whole supply and demand ca ca but fact is I live in Maine and soon I will be breaking out my snowmobile and not giving a darn about driving a car. I am just torn on hoping I can get a Shelby vs. hoping my 05 gets built. I think the chances of the 05 happening are slim this late into the production year. I love the tungsten silver so I am really on the fence. I would love to see someone from Ford make an announcement stating they will garuntee that they will make as many Shelby's as they have orders for and it will be sold at no more than MSRP. That would make my decision easy. I would not be driving either an 05 or Shelby daily and would be a relaxation thing for me so Im not concerned about the gas mileage thing that others may be, as they would drive it daily. I have also been looking at some older mustangs at a classic car dealer down the street from me. As much as I love the old cars I know I would be mad at myself for not getting a new one. heck I think I know how PMS mood swings feel now!LOL
