O5 Mustang owners, your opinion
Well since you've all been waiting for a Saleen owner to chime in.....I honestly didn't like the look of the Saleen at first....didn't care for the grille or the taillights or the rear paneling. Was actually leaning more towards a Roush. Then I saw the Saleen in person and realized how cool it actually was. Shortly thereafter, I bought a beautiful sonic blue Saleen....bought it from a dealer who also sells Roush....I'm definately happy I bought what I did.
Overall, I think most of the teams involved in the Mustang high-performance aftermarket rushed it. The '05 Saleen is a perfect example of that.
I have evolved into a minimalist design lover (Gallardo), so this Saleen is just tacky to me.

As someone else said "fugly".... I have a feeling they just HAD to do something and knew others would be doing the ducktail thing, so they did something sort of euro-japo-hightecho... <chuckle>
Didn't stop me from buying their springs, though...

No, the rear doesn't look exactly like a retro Mustang, but where is it written that it has to? Forget your preconceptions, and it's a stunning looking car. Far better and more cohesive than ANYTHING from Steeda or Roush, IMHO.
For 05, I'm partial to the Roush myself, though I could do without the fork lift inserts on the Roush tail...I LOVE the aggressive front end.
I've always loved Saleens, but the rear on the 05+ looks like it took a boot low and hard. I do really like the lower 1/3, exhaust and diffuser outlets, but as a whole, the whole rear does not look right. It does look better in person.
