Have you driven your Mustang hard over mid-corner bumps? If so, how could you not feel the rear end being unsettled? My brothers M3 can go thru the same corner without the suspension being upset and inspiring more confidence. The ride quality is also noticeably better. Refinement is the key in the automotive market, something Ford is obviously a few years behind on.

Magazine racing....Again, don't hold those numbers as the gospel. A C6 will mop up our cars in every handling catagory and on a race track. I am sure there are people that will look at those figures and say that the 05 GT handles just as well as a C6. If you were to put the same driver in each car under the same conditions, the C6 would anihilate us.

Honestly, if the slalom numbers of the SRA were that good, they would have been otherworldly with the IRS. But the SRA is "good enough" in Ford's eyes.

 

It was good enough in Daytona.

Yeah..I'm really getting kind of sick of hearing about Daytona all the time. It's nice they conveniently forget that a BMW won the next round at Santo Domingo, a track that places a premium on handling over hp.

Fer chrissakes, it's only one win, and they've only had two races so far.

Right. Nobody's questioning that. Put Michael Schumacher into a Yugo and he could probably scratch out a few wins.

My point is that Daytona is a power track, where horsepower lends itself well to the banking and the long straights.

 

Notice the likes of him are not posting here. My point about Daytona is if it is good enough to compete at that level it is more than adequate for amateurs and fans.

Adequate is the right word...I wonder if ford will use it in its advertising, personally I prefer good enough
