They did. Well... sort of, and just as good with the '03 Cobra.

How so? It has the same headlights as a 99-04, the only difference is the front fascia.

Who, me?

Aaaaabbbsolutely!

Some of the cues which went on the SE's and Cobra had its origins on the FR500.

the reason the 500 in GT500 was chosen by Carroll Shelby is that it was a larger number than any other manufacturer had on their car
i like the FR500s, it would have been a pretty hot seller i think

The FR500 had the 5.0 in it (spray-bored 4.6)
It was originally used as a project to see if it was a viable solution (when ford was thinking about bringing back the 5.0)
(remember the 03 1/2 (now 05) mustang was suppose to have a 4.6 and 4.9L engine, and the Cobra would have had a 5.0L (these were scrapped long ago)

And Ford Racing also had a FR200 focus.

To me . . the FR500 is to the 99-04 as the SVO is to the four-eyed Foxes. I too would have purchased a FR500 if they would have been produced.
