2 year run for Shelby Cobra GT 500

The new Shelby Cobra GT 500 will be a 2 year run starting in 2006 as a 2007 model. Expect production to be around 8000 per year. The SVT team will have an assortment of other Mustangs to offer but don't look to have another Shelby after the 2008 model.

Is this a guess, an inside scoop, a fact or just plain playing with our minds. Come clean please.

 

Ford Division source in close communication with the SVT team. This is the current plan as of this week. But as you know, Ford can and do change their minds.

 

It said that production would be 8,000 per year in my Edmunds.com e-mail. It also said it would be available in 2006 as an 07 model...nothing about a 2 year stint though.

 

Makes sense. Same as the Mach 1. There should be plenty to go around for everyone who wants one.

 

Dealers would love to hear that so they can really jack up the price for the collectors.
