The concept had a better front stance without a doubt. Ford's reasoning for black rocker panels, the front splitter, and the lower portion of the back bumper was to avoid it looking bulky. If this is the final version it'll come up short on looks.

 

I hope everyone at Ford decides to pull their heads out of their A*$es......this car is getting less aggressive and more plain as time pushes towards its release date. I agree with everyone....it needs the front splitter, hood scoop/vents, rear diffuser (but I dont mind the colored rocker panels due to my previous post about Ford using V6 parts). Hey Ford, don't worry about the front spoiler hitting spped bumps-----that's OUR problem. Just get the car right the first time out. A big part of us buying the new Cobra is to have something totally different......besides the engine, suspension, etc., we want a different looking car (to a point) . Is Ford stupid, cheap or both? ..and PAINT THE MIRRORS!!!!!

 

Looking more and more like a GT everyday. That hood is BOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! And what Sharpie said "PAINT THE MIRRORS!"

Please Ford, please, we are begging you; make this thing look like a Shelby, not a Shelby in GT clothes. I mean really, besides the grill, nothing sets this car apart in the looks department.

 

a stock GT is better looking, thats the worst part.

 

Where did that "we" stuff come from? Instead of "we are begging" it should be we are not buying. Not too many are going to shed an extra $14K for a ducktail and an extra 150hp on a glorified GT with the Shelby name on it, specially since Ford has already trashed the IRS. I could save half the extra money, mod a GT and it would come out just as good.

 

i think it looks awesome with the lower pieces painted!!! Of course painted mirrors would be nice also.

I like the shelby the way concept was released. If ford gets away from making a different looking car altogether I just might order a 06 and mod it. I wanted the shelby because it was different than the GT. Guess I am just going to have to wait and see what Ford releases as the offical Shelby.
