07 Shelby at Downriver cruise

It is awesome. It is at Southgate Ford and the guys are cruising around with it. Burned a little rubber and sounded pretty good. They brought the car in on a trailer. It is Yellow and the body looks just like the pics including the hood vents, although the vents are removed. It must be one of the ones they ran down the production line at AAI recently. If you are in Michigan, the cruise is going on tommorow also. It will be there I am sure.

I didn't see it... I was in the area early that day and then the following Sat. I parked at Southgate Ford during the cruise.

Hmm, I have a question about the bottom of the GT 500. I see that this yellow one (as well as the Legend Lime one that recently appeared on the ford site, has body color front fascia (and side underneath the door area, etc.).
So is the GT500 that was shown this past Spring supposed to have plastic separate black pieces at the bottom all around the car (including the air channels in back under bumper) or are they just painted black and part of the same front bumper, back bumper, sides, etc.?
I am starting to think that Ford will be offering some option here or just cutting costs and not having those black all around bottom area panels....
Thanks.

I agree Doug. I like the black near the bottom as it breaks up the car some and this car needs scoops (functional) on the hood.
Hopefully Ford is just trying out new things but working on a functional hood.

Yeah, the empy grille and the blank hood make the car look really gay. the headlights have that angle that they had before and the grille comes up in the cneter and without the snake emblem on the grille and without the scoops, it is horribley wimpy looking.

The more I see these production-type shots, the less impressed I am with the car. What is up with the "mud flaps" just in front of the front wheel? And they still can't seem to make up their mind with the rockers: black = V6 and truck-ride looking. Even though I like how it lengthens the look of the car, I don't like it at the expense of making it look like it is a foot off the ground. Even though, the painted rockers do look a bit chunky, they still look beter overall IMHO. I just HATE cheap black plastic on the outside of my car.
I like the lights though, but wish they would widen them even more to minimize that huge empty grill.
Either way, it doesn't look like a $40k car, and the engine/brakes, while nice, doesn't seem to be worth around ~$15k IMHO.
Hopefully Ford will bring it around for production.
