My passenger side window has totally stopped working. The controls no longer respond. Everything was fine and dandy last night when I parked the car, but this morning when I went out to wash it the window wouldnt roll down. Its done this before, briefly, but fixed itself. Now, it just doenst respond. I hear no "whining" from the motor trying to turn and not work, and it no longer slides up/down with the door opening. As a result the window no longer sits in the sill properly, without a little forcible help, and alot of air can be heard rushing into the car while driving. I plan on getting to the dealership first thing tomorrow and finding out whats going on. Im inclined to believe the motors burnt out/dead but I dont understand why it would be

Anyone else had any similar experiences?

Silly question but does your drivers side window still work?
I wonder if someone was tampering with your car maybe trying to break in or something?
I hope you get this issue resolved!

Nope, drivers side works just like always has. I never thought about someone tampering with it, but after you mentioning it I went and checked the sills and doors to see if looked like anyone had been jabbing anything down in there, but it looks clean to me. Does anyone have a fuse diagram for the car? I cant seem to find one in the car or owners manual.

Page 164 in the owners manual refers to a 30 amp fuse for the right front window motor. Check that out first.

Fuse was fine when I pulled it this morning so I went ahead and took it to the dealer. I dropped it off promptly at 9 and just got it back at 6. They told me there was a dead circuit in the passenger side controls keeping the window from working properly. The service manager said he had ordered the part and that it would be in tomorrow, probably the early morning so Ill be going back then to have them finish up the work. While I was there, I had them check my breaks because they were squeaking and the windshield wipers as the intermediate speeds didnt work (I had low, med, hi but no inbetweens.) They said they "think they inadvertantly found the problem" with the windshield wipers trying to fix the door, saying they found a loose connection. How they found that trying to fix the door I didnt ask. He also said that due to the metallic compound used in the breaks they tended to become glossed over sometimes, which would produce the squeaking. He said they had polished them down and it was gone now.

So now after 9 hours of waiting and 3/4 of a tank of gas (what they ran out testing it) my window still doenst work, my breaks still squeak, and I have to waste another day trying to get them to fix the same problems again. Im really getting ticked off at the service Ford is giving me. Im not trying to make a blanket statement against the company, just maybe the dealer where I live.

When I bought the car, as a gift to me my dad bought me the spoiler as an addon. I never wanted it, but I wasnt going to say "no" after he had bought it for me as a gift and then already arranged for them to put it on as well. Now, please keep in mind I bought from my hometown and drive 3 hours to college. The "only possible time they could possibly do it this month" was on a wedesday right in the middle of my school week. I made the trip home some two weeks after buying the car, and they are shocked that Im there! I was supposed to be there last week at the same time! They made the appointment at one time and told me another, then tried to lie and lay the blame on me. Im one of those freaks that saves every piece of paper or info that comes with the car -and then carries copies around with me. Oops, I had a copy of the date and time on a fax they sent me in the car, even had the managers signature. But what can I do? I bite the bullet and spend the night home then get up the next day, missing all my classes, and have them install it the next morning. Oops again, had to wait on them to paint it so it actually was installed that night.

I paid (too much I might add) and had the dealer install the tint as well. Now, Im a nice guy. I really am! But when I get my car back, my rearview mirror is missing (not even in the car), there are water marks and streaks all over my seats, and I found FRENCH FRIES AND A BREAD CRUMBS in and around the passenger seat. Food doenst touch my car. You dont get take out in my car and eat it later at home. You dont touch my car with greasy hands. Plus, to top it all off, they added the tint to the top of the windshield. I hate it, I think it looks tacky, and because Im 6'4 I literally can NOT see with it on there. It borders right on my edge of vision. After finding my rear view mirror they agreed to have the car cleaned. Two hours later I have two new paper floormats and still have stains on my seats. And theres still trash visible in the back floorboards, which makes me even wonder if they cleaned it at all, or just stuck the papers in there to make me think they did.

Im sorry for the rant but Im more than a little hacked off by the quality of service Ive gotten since owning this car. I sure never found food in my Honda after having it serviced. :bang:

Don't have this problem, but am curiouse, does the door open without the drop down? Can you open the door with the bad window motor/regulator? I mean how can you get in the car if the battery is dead? I hope the window will flex enough to clear the molding.

I'm about to buy a mustang in the Atlanta area - can you tell me which dealer this was (at least the area), so maybe I can stay clear?

The dealer I bought from was in Rome, not actually in Atlanta. I highly reccomend Team Ford in Marietta. I got great service there in the past, and they were very helpful. I still have a salesmans card if you would like his contact info.

With the motor not working the door will still open, it just passes under the seal. If you watch the door when you open it, the window doesnt actually drop down until the door is already open, so this isnt a problem. The problem does come, however, when closing the door. Because it hasnt dropped down, it actually sits outside the seal and must be pushed back up under. Doesnt take much force, but it still cant be too good for the glass. Since its been raining here for the last two days Im really paranoid about it.

Im still waiting on the part to come in =(
