Visuals done. time for under the hood!
Ok guys I need your advice because I don't know much about anything. I just got my Pony grille installed completeing the visual mods I wanted to do. Now I'd like to get into the performance catagorey, but don't know where to start. I already have an axle-back JBA exhaust and a K&N air filter. Essentially I'm asking, what would be some good basic mods that will get more muscle out of the car without going insane? It's a pleasure car not a daily.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Well first you need to get it tuned and if that K&N is a drop in you need a CAI as well. Then I'd do a lil suspension work, LCA's and springs to make it handle better. LCA's will put extra power to the ground. You could always go with a UDP system, I went with the altenator system and it worked well, you could get a alum drive shaft for safety and better ride which will all generate more power. None of the above will break you total around $1000. But you do one thing GET A GOOD TUNE!

Thanks man. What are LCAs? And I take it UDP is under drive pulley? My biggest problem is I'll probably have to get most of that installed. I havn't done much car work and I'd be afraid of wrecking the car.
I'd really like to learn, but a new car probably ain't the best to learn.
Also, If I did get the intake, how would this one be?

LCA = Lower Control Arms.
Here is a descrition from maximummotorsports.com
Here is a descrition from maximummotorsports.com
Maximum Motorsports' Aluminum Rear Lower Control Arms for the 2005 and newer Mustang improve traction and handling by eliminating bushing compliance and correcting suspension geometry. Spherical rod ends ensure precise axle control, eliminating the compliance that leads to wheel hop, while still allowing the rear suspension to articulate freely. Offset mounting bushings correct the rear suspension geometry for reduced understeer. The arms come preset to the stock length for easy installation, and offer length adjustability to square the axle to the chassis. These lightweight control arms weigh in at a scant 2.28 pounds each, nearly 9 pounds per set lighter than the OEM control arms. They are anodized gray for durability and great appearance. While acceptable to performance enthusiasts for street use, expect a mild increase in noise transmitted through these arms. Keep your tires firmly planted with Maximum Motorsports Rear Lower Control Arms!

Thanks alot Capri! I'll look into all of these things. (LCA, K&N aircharger, tune, udp) In terms of a tune, I'll probably go with Doug from Bamachips. My question is what would you guys recommed using for a pleasure car? 87, 89, or 93 octane? What's the differences, etc?
Thanks
Thanks

If you are going to get a tune from Doug, you should just go ahead and get a C&L intake from him as well. The K&N probably isn't the most efficient CAI because it does not require a tune.

I'm probably gonna be getting the K&N soon. I like their stuff and trust it. plus it looks better under the hood. Thanks for the input guys!
Anyone know what kind of gains we are looking at for the K&N with a tune?
