Hi all.

I was wondering what the differences you notice between the performance tune and torque tunes.

I hope to soon get an xcal2/cai.

If you're a daily driver, what tune do you use? Are there different shifting points between the tunes?

With the torque tune you barely have to touch the gas and you're gone! Seems like it shifts harder but I'm not sure. It's great around town. You definitely feel the difference. The performance tune is great also and will make a big difference from stock.

This is what Doug at Bamachips told me when I asked him about the tunes he provided for me,

"The Torque and Performance programs differ in the range they are aimed at for making power. The Torque is more so a daily driver program that focuses in on the 1500-3500 rpm's band. In order to do so well in that range though it does give up a few HP up top and this is why I break it apart from my Performance adjustments. The Performance program is aimed at more of a 3000rpm and up rpm band focusing in more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving. This is a great track tune but also works well daily driven. Any of my programs are safe to use for daily driving unless you request a race only tune."

I will tell you that you can really feel the torque tune pulling off the line and the performance tune helps if you're at high RPM a lot. I've gone back and forth using both tunes.

They come with the tuner! You get 3 tunes, you can get those two and an 87 octane tune.

Drop him an email and ask... whatever price you pay, Doug's tunes are worth every penny.

I'm getting the tuner for a little under $240 if all goes well, so I'm saving a little bit, but when you work at UPS every little bit helps I guess.

My tunes are $50 each, so three tunes would be $150, add that to your base of $240 and you could have bought the X-2 from me last year for $379 and saved $11. Even with shipping you would still have saved $6 .

Either way just let me know and I'll be happy to load them in the tuner for you.

Thanks, Doug.

Not to mention he could have got the C&L/SCT-2 combo for $650 with the custom tunes and saved even more. Which is what I suggested before.
