What exactly does this brace do? From the post I gathered it helps with handling. How? What purpose? Will it work with a front sway bar, or does one make the other redundant?

The strut tower brace ties the tops of the shock towers together, preventing chassis flex, which can adversely affect handling. It basically stiffens the frame of the car a bit more. The S197 is a pretty solid chassis to start with, but if you're really trying to wring out every bit of handling, a strut brace is something you'll want on the "to-do" list

It does not replace the sway bar. They do two different things. The braces stiffens the car's structure, the sway bar helps the car body resist rolling in a turn. They both help in different ways.

I see your car has the Pony package, and hence already has a rear sway bar. For an '05 V6 or a non-Pony '06 V6, a rear sway bar is really the best first step, with the biggest "bang for the buck"

Another owner just alerted me to this. Niche performance Industries paid this company to produce this brace and apperently is being sold illegally. Anyone who has this brace could you please email me at dsimpson@nichepi.com

Torch they are neat aren't they? I put them on (stripped the bolt in the hood) and felt it is one of the best mods I've done.

Okay, I'm lost; how did you strip a bolt in the hood by putting on a strut-tower brace???
