How were you able to get the x-plan pricing, my dealerships here in Florida won't even consider it. I am getting about $1000 off the MSRP of the one I am ordering.

When I first went into the dealership and asked if I could get the x-plan price they said no. But then he checked with his manager and said they would give it on the V6 just not the GT. Certain areas must be different, I am in CA. But hey $1000 off MSRP is pretty much x-plan price. I saved $1,100 with it which was a tad over 6%.

Hey guys might be a dumb question but what is a DORA? And also the only thing so far I got from my dealer was the vehicle order confirmation sheet. What do I need to ask for to be able to track my car and know when the build date is?

Getting closer and closer everyday :spin:

Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement - A verification sent to dealers acknowledging each order placed with Ford, after that you will receive a Vin number and production date

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Im sure this car will feel like a rocket ship compared to my 100hp tercel! And Tres I ordered it with no options at all. It's as base as you can get the car. The interior is light graphite. The dealer tried to sell me the pony package but I don't have that much money since most of it is going to the car and insurance. In the future I might upgrade to cobra rims or somethin of the sort.

Did you know they have a new model for the 06s? They are offering a standard model and the only difference to the 05 deluxe is that for $90 cheaper they are offering steel rims. I didn't know that going in there and I surely didn't take the bait.

p.s. I already lost about 4 hours of sleep on my first night! MAN I'm in for a long one! haha
Dude, you and I are in this together! My husband and I just ordered this past tuesday (26th) so I haven't even been waiting a week yet!! We ordered a V6 Coupe in the Vista Blue color with charcoal interior and we opted for the Pony Package. I love the pics of the grill that are on this site! Looks so much like a '65 grill. Have you started x'ing off days on a calendar? I have!! -Marci

I ordered my 2006 V6 from Elma, Washington for $500 over dealer cost. My 2005 to 2006 price increase was just +0.7% (+$150) so the price basically didn't change. The advantage with a 2006 is that many of the corrections are dialed into the car, such as the new fuel tank that fills properly, the Shaker 500 that doesn't skip, the presence of the My Color dash lights, the new for 2006 tire pressure monitor, etc.

Seriously. Are you saying MyColor on the 2006 changes the color on ALL the dash lighting? That would be AWESOME!

EDIT: As for X-Plan have your salesman check with the sales manager for the dealership. I was initially told they wouldn't accept it, but it turns out they do accept X-Plan on the GT on new vehicle orders.

Congrats on your order. Here's a pic of the Black V6 that I test drove and made me want to order a V6 5 speed manual. You can click on the link in my sig to read about it....

Hey everybody! I'm David and I'm a mustangaholik! (everyone says HI DAVE) I'm new to this place, well not really. I've lurked around for a few months now and learned alot from you guys. When i went into the dealership I actually knew more than the dealer did about the car so I felt like the man. I don't know much about cars because I am 21 and have driven a 1991 toyota tercel for 5 years. :notnice: But now I've saved up and with some help from my dad, actually ALOT, I can finally get a real car. I ordered the 06 black V6 with no hesitation in the slightest. It was funny, actually kinda dumb on my part, but I didn't even go sit in one of the mustangs or test drive it. I knew thats what I definately wanted because I've been doing homework on this car for so long. Nothing was going to change my mind or stop me from ordering that car. Anyways the new stang is one sweet car and I can't wait to sit in my own new stang for the first time. The countdown begins! see ya

THANKS GUYS! I have been trying to decide lately if I want to sell the stock wheels and buy new ones. Right now I'm leaning towards getting 17" black bullit rims. I think they look sweet on black cars. Anyone with black V6's and different from stock rims have some pics?
