This is kinda related so i'm puttign it here. Can anyone confirm that the followign part # is that for the drivers side GT exhaust pipe? 4r3z-5a212-AB

Looking over the pdf file I was havign second thoughts if I got the right pipe, but the guy at the dealership told me AB is the drivers side but I want to be sure before I go to the exhaust shop with the wrong pipe.

message afixer and hambone, both of these guys have done the left side exhaust set up, the both of them are very very helpfull and nice guys to deal with !

ok so here are the parts i ordered

1 2- MUFFLER brackets part # 4R3Z*5A246*AA
2 1-LEFT SIDE PIPE # 4R3Z*5A212*AB

OK, had my true dual with GT parts intalled by a local muffler shop today. They cut out the stock "Y", hung the LH GT pipe I got from Ford, and fabricated up a custom "H" connection to hook everything up. I had already mounted the LH GT takeoff muffler on the new stock hangers before I got to the shop. I also had them reweld the front rubber damper back on just to be safe.

Impressions? The setup actually seems quieter over all than the stock single exhaust with the RH GT muffler I had on before. But I can tell there is a muffler on my side of the car with the windows open. The best thing is ALL the nasty resonating of the stock V6 exhaust is gone. Idle, 1500 rpm, the works (there was some before with just the RH GT takeoff). It's worth every penny just for that.

Plus the quote from the muffler shop guys when they started it - "Sounds pretty *%&%(^ good for a 6!"

Congrats Mark, did you also cut out the bumper for the L side muffler and how did that go, and is there any chance of some pic's or sound clips, would love to see and or hear it, I bet it even feels like it goes faster too, will you be adding any crome tips to finnish it off.

Here are the 2 intermediate pipes coming back. I had them keep the stock RH slip connector and had them put one in for the LH side. That way the 2 intermediate pipes can be pulled for a possible repair (instead of having everything welded up)

Thank you Mark for your time and effort, the pictures look great, The video and sound are back working now that Hambone had posted, it really has me thinking of doing the duals, I do have the L side GT muffler sitting on a shelf in the garage waiting on me to do something with it

I can't wait till I get my gas tank TSB done so I get get the duals put on. The parents are starting to complain about the random pipes and parts laying around the house.

I had them weld the damper back on to prevent having all the rest of the work done and then finding an annoying vibration afterwards - especially the 850 rpm problem that caused Ford to put out a TSB during the '05 run (the dampers were the solution). I figured it couldn't hurt.

Trust me - it's so smooth at idle, you'd think it wasn't running. There was a periodic rumble at idle with just the GT takeoff installed.

Went for a drive yesterday and showed the results to my Ford salesman. He loved it and had to listen as I accelerated out onto the main street.

Mark, did you have to do any tune to the computer to keep the check eng light off also did you disconect the batt before insulation so the computer could relearn

I have a 87 octane tune from Alternative Auto, but from what I have read - nobody else has gotten a CEL from going to dual exhaust.

I kept the radio off on the way to work and both my wife and I agreed we have achieved a nice rumble that provides the "muscle car sound" we were looking for along with getting rid of the nasty vibrations and drones from the stock exhaust. We're happy.

when i did my duals i had him put the clamps on so the whole thing comes apart at the xpipe. so no prob with the gas tank

OK, kind of an important question since I was about to look for a shop this week. For those that put on duals with the take off GT mufflers and X pipe, did you have issues fitting the stock V6 pipe onto the Xpipe and GT muffler? Should I buy a right side GT pipe now as well?
