Difficult decision

Hello, I have a 2007 mustang pony package. And I was looking to get a little more umph it has 42000 miles on it and
I wanted to add a supercharger, but I heard that hurt your engine life so I switched to wanting a turbo, but now the super has become more and more appealing, I already have exhaust, (headers, flowmaster) and a CAI. I want to know what is best for my v6 and what else I would need to add with the turbo or super to handle the power, like a new rear axle, suspension, gears, etc.

I started a thread on this very them not too long ago. Look it up. I was given a lot of good advice on the pros and cons of both. I'll probably go with a supercharger, because it's something I can install myself.
Good luck,
Fritz

Pros of a Super is that you will have awesome power to weight ratio. The cons is that you have to use premium gas, and at nearly $4.00 a gallon you probably won't be driving much.

I'm holding off getting a performance tune cos gas prices suck and i commute 52 miles round trip work days.

I actually just ordered a tuner off American muscle, and I thought that with a turbo you had to use premium also? My girlfriends Audi comes stock turbo and she can only use premium gas

Contact Silver Horse Racing. He'll give you some good info on a SC for your V6. He taught me a lot.

Any kind of forced induction, whether it's a supercharger or a turbo will require premium fuel to get the most benefit from having it.

I run the Explorer Express X-Charger Xtreme Intercooled supercharger. I have 107,000 miles on the supercharger and 137,000 miles on the engine with now problems at all. The X-Charger can make up to 330RWHP depending on which tune and available octane fuel you use.

This kit uses an Eaton/Magnuson MP90 roots style blower and the install is pretty easy if you are use to working on cars. Definitely a DIY install IMO but could be intimidating for some people.

They sell direct and through retailers like SileverHorseRacing, Stage3Motorsports, Steeda, American Muscle and others. They also offer the best customer support in the industry IMO.
