Cheap, Easy Mods
you can pick up a used or takeoff set of gt mufflers and swap out that v6 muffler. thats the first thing i did while i was waiting on my h pipe setup to come to go dual. might pick up 5-10 hp just by doing that. it wont be loud, but it will sound just a little better and flows better
I have two sets of gt mufflers and an x pipe for sale in the for sale section. Mike stated you might pick up 5 to 10 hp. I also have a stock gt h pipe if your interested in that instead of the x pipe.
on the 05 something else you should do is a bi-pass to the coolant hoses going to the throttle body. they omitted them after 05. they are not needed and it makes removing the tb real easy (4 bolts-2 connectors) which at the same time you should remove and clean. get a can of tb cleaner at the auto parts. the inside should look like clean alum with no black. thats gonna help all around performance. heres a post i did on another forum back on 08. it shows a pic of where the hoses are. i just used the longer hose and made a loop, but you could just block it off any way you want.

another thing sorta cheap that i wish i would have done alot sooner is install a oil catch can between the PCV valve and the plenum. it keeps alot of oil from going into the intake, which coats everything. i got one off ebay for $30. ive got some install posts on this if you ever need it

another great mod is some takeoff or used gt frt and rear sway bars. HUGE improvement in handling, the gt struts are nice too. rear shocks are the same as the v6

The Best mods I can recommend that are somewhat cheap with a big difference is a CAI, prob any kind of open air filter will do..A tuner is an amazing device that will do wonders...for a chunk of change. A strut tower brace will make a noticeable difference in handling...Other than that, use full synthetic oil for oil changes, and remove any excess weight from the car...Good Luck!
