OK, I was on ym way back from a decent road trip of about 250 miles on I-95 in CT goin to NYC. At one point my car started to sway back and forth. It was weird because it was really smooth and it would stop and go with it. After a few minutes it stopped doing it and the rest of the trip it was fine, almost another 100 miles. Could this have just been grooves in the road? Everything on my car seems fine, all tire lugs are there and tight, ect.

Possibley wind? that would be my first guess. Ive done a lot of road trips across the palm desert and it gets very windy there, and ive been shot 1½ lanes across in 1 gust.

I guess it could have been wind, just odd how it happened all of a sudden and was ona nd off for about 5 min, then stopped for the rest of the trip.

I've been on highways that were grooved it caused the front of the car to feel like it was moving a little side to side - especially if the series of grooves didnt' line up with each other.

I'd say it was either wind or a bad section in the road.

Ive had several sections of road throw me one direction or another before... usually away from the center line, but my guess is just wind.

Either or both. I95 is a notoriously bad strech. Most of it that I've ever driven is concrete. If the section you were running on was concrete, the grooves might have thrown you around a bit. Probably a combo.

Ever driven across a steel deck bridge? No car is safe from shimmying across one of those where the pannels don't line up....
