Got my X-cal today... if all goes well, I'll have everything installed tomorrow afternoon.

Right on, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I just had the C&L intake and 87 octane Bamachips tune installed! After taking some guff from my mechanic about the 87 octane gas ("I might use it to light a fire"), I am still totally blown away! I just filled up the tank and I'll try out the 91 octane performance or torque tune next time.
I just took the car for an extended spin around the block. Wow! This is how the car should drive! No throttle hesitation. Tires burn (or, I should say, that one passenger side tire) without even going to wot. Yeah... I need a t-lok!
Haven't taken it above 50 yet... I'll take it on the freeway this afternoon and report my thoughts. darn... it just feels good. It also seems to have smoothed out the exhaust note... a bit more aggressive and slightly deeper.
The fit and finish of the C&L is lovely... could easily be OEM... actually, probably better.
Doug's tune, even the 87 octane, is just beautiful!
Here's a few glamour shots: (and, hey... it's been raining hard for a week... I know the engine bay is dirty!)

Congratulations man! Looks beautiful and sounds like it kicks hiney. Nothing like spinning the wheel(s).

When you get a chance, probably at 3am or something, go to a stop light and do a hard launch to 90mph if possible. That is how I test my ride. Heh heh.

Just for the record, I do not use the word "hiney". It must be the parental controls on the board.

Oh yea, meant to ask. Any change in sound on your JBA's?

Thank God you clarified that!! After meeting you and then reading that post, I was thinking, "Funny, he didn't seem like a weenie..."

Anyway, you know the person to talk to about headers is hamidlmt. Hes running shorties. And whats up with this 4 month crap, how you gonna last 4 months without modding your car. You know, interior appearance and audio mods are a great way to burn time between major performance mods.
LOL.

I can wait. I had that CAI for 3 months and the TT for 6 weeks without doing anything with them. Military teaches you "Hurry up and wait!" I will probably buy the things and stare at them until I decide top throw them on!! Plus, all of the research is almost as much fun as installing them. Research.... the foreplay of modding....

Couple of questions (or observations) on the C&L...
Looks like a huge MAF housing but then it looks like it narrows down where it couples to the tube... is that how it is or just the photo?
The air filter looks like it has a solid end? Hard to tell... The MMR air filter actually has an open (filtered of course) end...
The PCV hose connector.. is that just a smooth tube on the C&L? I mean could you just slip a piece of hose over it?
Over all I like the looks of the C&L. The heatshield.. hmmm... might be a problem witht he way I've got my Zex installed... hmmm...

That is correct except for the PVC connector. It is smooth, but has a ring right in the middle. It's a little ridge.
Mine is still wrapped up, my SCT should be here on the 16th.
I'm glad you like it Hamid, gives me something to look forward to.
It looks awesome installed. That and maybe polished valve covers would make the engine bay so nice.

Thanks guys... been driving it around more this afternoon and this evening. Ya don't even have to come close to flooring it and that one tires breaks loose. I'm sure it's do to Doug's tune more so than the intake. I noticed it breaks loose around 2000-2500rpm from a dead stop, pedal half way down or so. And, that's just with the 87 octane tune. I will have to go with a t-lok early next year so my tires wear evenly!
Scrming...the pics don't lie...it does seem to narrow. And, I bet you could easily cut the heat shield to get it to fit with your zex.
ManE... you're right... polished valve covers would look great! Anyone have a source for 'em?
Rygen... I think the jba's do sound different. Maybe just a touch deeper and a more smoothed out tone... still, very aggressive.
Oh... and hiney, hiney, hiney... sorry, just had to try it! :P

Thanks for the update and the pics. The install looks great abd it sounds like you're having way too much fun! I've got mine ordered and am waiting for it now. After seeing yours I am drooling like a dog staring at a piece of steak!

Gary... you're gonna dig it so!
It could perhaps be any intake (pick your favorite flavor), but Doug's tune wakes up these ponies... like Sea Biscuit after he learns he can really run!
