Good morning all. Need to know if this is a problem with just my car or ALL V6's with the AOD (Automatic Overdrive). On my way to work this morning I went to accelerate (spelling), stomped on the pedal and friggen car winds up like it's going to blow up!! Felt like it was stuck in neutral!! RPM's were up to the redline so I back it off and it took a few for it to wind down back to 2500 rpms and I was able to accelerate again...Anyone else have this problem? If anyone know's how to fix this or has had to have it fixed please help!!

I have noticed, with the 'shift management', that if you are at a certain speed the tranny will disengage, downshift to gear that is real close to redline just to upshift again to next appropriate gear. This can bea annoying. I hit this a lot due to the 2 lane road I drive. (For 35 miles, and to get around the tourists and blue-hairs that must stick to 54 mph.)

I think there have been a few people on this board that have had their transmission replaced because it was slipping (kind of what that sounds like).

3800 miles here and all is well...When I stomp it the car pulls hard to red line shifts very smooth and jumps to red line again...Funny thing is I never can do this more than 2 or 3 times before I run out of road and/or common sense takes over and my right foot comes up some...If you think your shift manger is messed up all you have to do is disconnect the battery. Look in owners manual for the how to on this...Later Ed
