I currently have a 1998 V6 with 150 horsepower it handles well and has enough acceration for my purposes and with this vehicle I make a few trips from Edmonton to Vancouver each year without any problems. The GT is for the racing performance crowd for the rest of us that want a sporty runabout with good acceleration, stopping power and comfort then the V6 is the vehicle to buy. Next time your in a Ford Showroom look for the transmission dipstick. You will find that there is no dipstick. The German S55S transmission is all enclosed and never needs transmission fluid top up.

Our new stang is for my wife. It is her turn after I bought a 100 year Anniversary Harley last year. She drove the V-6 and realy liked it, but her decision process was based on the "little ponies" on the emblems. She hated the GT emblems, and she also wanted the black mustang stripe. So I gave up the GT (and the much higher price) so my gal could have her "little ponies". Makes me laugh everytime I think about it!

Drove the V-6, hoping (unrealisticly) that $20k would buy you a fast car. It does not. The V-6 has plenty of punch around town, and seemed great. Then I took it on the freeway. At 65, you have to stomp on it to get it to pass other cars. Personally, that's a let down. I would say its lacking about 30 horsepower. If you could modify for that, then it might rock. I ordered a GT for $26k. Best, L.L.
