I'm looking for a set of used black rocker panels from a V6 so I was wondering if there's any V6 guys out there who have put aftermarket side skirts on their car when they installed the kit.
I assume the stock rocker panels have to be removed.
They're only $72 each from Ford, but I was trying to save some money and give some to someone else for more mods to their car.

Jason, I should be swapping mine out in the next week or two for colored rockers from a GT (the car is only a week and a half old, so the black rockers are perfect). I'd be willing to cut you a decent deal if you're not in immediate need.

Me 2 and I,ve already done it !

Changed the stock black V6 for the GT painted ones, it's fairly simple but have to be carefull.

INSTRUCTION:

First remove the two (on each side) pins at the front wheel well.

Use a small flat screwdriver to get under the inner pin and pry it out. Then get under the other piece and pry out.

To take out the nine plastic pins located on the underside of the rocker panel,
use a needle nose plier and get under the lip and pry out use a small piece of wood as leverage, you could also use thos specialzed tools to remove those pins. It's like a large flat srewdriver with a slot in the blade and it's angled at the tip.

The next obstacle are the 6 white plastic clips that attach the panel to the vehicle's side. Pry the panel out from the rear and move it towards the front of the vehicle and push up. It's a one at a time procedure. It is really difficult to explain but fairly clear once you get to them.

Start at the rear and work forward. The last pin in the front needs to be pulled out staigth because i'ts different from others.

The clips stay on the vehicle and can be removed with needle nosed pliers, or push the pins laps toward the inside with the small screwdriver.

Before you start you may want to order the pins and clips from Ford as the black pins from underneath get pretty well destroyed by removing them.

You will need 18 and the P/N is: W710532*S300.
The white clips that attach to the side can be reused if removed with care.

It's too bad that your'e going to get good at it and you only have one car to do !!!!

It took me about 40 min to do both sides.

Have fun !

Fantastic instructions! I was wondering if new clips would be required, and here I even have part numbers. My intention is to remove my V6 side rocker panels and get them painted bright red to match my on-order wing (3D Carbon's Boy Racer). With the solid Torch Red color, the Boy Racer wing should look pretty good, and painting the rocker panels will give the car a lower appearance, I think.
Thanks; Brian.
