Just got curious and looked up the '05 on the NHTSA website. It had some impressive crash test numbers, which considering all the go faster mods we're throwing at our cars is a good thing

Five star frontal and 4 for side impacts.

I work for the safety restraint supplier (Takata), and can definitely say it's all top flight, latest technology hardware. (I believe in it enough that I have an 06 on order)

 

Great News! Hopefully the insurance companies see all these tests and they lower the rates!!!

 

It's sad to see two Mustangs sacrifice their own lives in the name of safety, but it proves to everyone that the Mustang is Built Ford Tough.

As for insurance rates, I'm actually paying less than with the Civic I used to drive.
