My password was forgotten by the website for some reason. I had to have it reset and change it again. I know I wasn't the only one either. I thought I was banned for some reason I tried contacting one of the moderators, but you have to log in to do so. I also emailed Brad, but didn't get a response. I finally stumbled across the password reset ordeal.

Basically, everything that you did when you came here, you have to do over again. I reset my password (used the same one as before, just "reset it"), revised my signature, avatar (which sucked by the way, 'cause now there is a size limit), and options. Most of which you do from your control panel, after you reset your password.

For sure... I'm chomping at the bit to get this finished up. It's been a long time coming.

I got a chance to drive up to ST Motorsports today. Here are a few pics I took of the Livernois P&P heads. You can see the intake and exhaust port work, as well as the combustion chamber, with the new oversize valves. Also, the last two pics show the parts that got damaged during shipment.

Well, here is a sight I have been waiting to see for quite a while.

Adam's dad came to get my car this morning to trailer it back up to ST Motorsports (165-mi roundtrip). Mucho thanks to "Pops" for getting up early on a Sunday morning (and a Holiday weekend, no less) to do this for me.

Once back at the shop, Adam will be assembling/installing/tuning the new engine, and installing the new beefed up Art Carr-built 5R55S trans. He will also be rebuilding the rear end (Detroit Truetrac, Moser axles & girdle).

I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

Great sight Don. How long is it going to take Adam to get her together?

Aahhhh... that's the $64,000 question. We both hope I get to race the car on the weekend of 6/17-6/18. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I snapped a few pics of my JE custom pistons, Scat rods, Cobra crank, and Teksid block today. This is the first time I have seen the rotating assembly.

The pistons have coating on the skirts and thermal coating on the dome. Note the nice thick ring land at the top... it's about 3x as thick as the stock pistons.

Rods and crank

These belong to Mark, Steve, Adam (for his wife's car) and me.

These are some of my parts on this shelf, and on the cart are parts removed off the car when we tore it down.

OK... don_w is officially stoked!! A little while ago I got this PM from Adam:

Just thought I'd let you know that I got the engine hot tanked and bolted on the engine stand. I installed the crank, set the main bearing clearance and checked end play. All is good there. Then I got the rings filed, and got 4 pistons installed on rods. I figure I'll have the long block assembled tomorrow. One thing I forgot...the teskid block didnt have a rear main seal adapter, but it looks like the OE one will work. I'll know in the morning, if it doesnt fit I'll order one from Ford priority. Everthing else seems ok at this point, but with my luck you never know. I'm hoping to stab this thing Wed. if possible.

p.s. He also said he'll snap pics of the shortblock and longblock.

Thanks guys. Since I have intentionally stayed away from installing a rollbar, my target ETs are just above the 11.49 threshold. I won't hit those right away, but we'll sneak up on it.

As far as cost, if you look at everything included on my Wi$h Li$T, the total is a little north of $15K.

Don,
I am very happy for you. I know this is taking a lot longer then you orginally hoped on but you have done everything the right way and have not cut any corners just for the sake of getting on the road sooner. As a toolmaker I appreciate someone that takes the time to do it right without compromise. Best of luck.
Scott
