If it is 475rwhp, it'll probably be too much for the bottom end.
I think it is probably 475fwhp, which is about 400rwhp. That is supposed to be the safe limit for these engines.
B) Don't take this the wrong way.... But;Where did this info come from?
Valid un-named source, published article, documented test/calculations, rumor, SWAG, feelings or???

Can anyone tell me if that is rwhp or fwhp. My guess is that it is fwhp.

I heard a rumor that the Ford Racing Parts twin screw (when it arrives), if installed by a dealer, will not void the factory warranty. That would be cool.

If you are talking about the HP and Torq numbers and where they come from, I believe the come from here ...
http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1208
No mention as to whether it is at the wheels or at the transmission though, just the numbers.
sorry that was in response to woody1

about the new s/c and it not killing the warranty:
If you go here: http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...gs/2005-pp.pdf
and scroll down to the superchargers you will see that it specifically says that it will void any engine warranty. That one is for the 2004 cobra but I would expect that it will be the same for anything that comes out for the 2005 mustangs.

Question ... are you sure that it will be a twin screw? I had thought that ford used roots type s/c's. would be great if they finally went to a twin screw especially one made in conjunction with whipple.

That's just what I had read from another site. I figured the warranty rumor was bad.

Well, the GT uses a twin-screw, the Lighting concept used a twin-screw, and the Mustang concept used a twin-screw. I think the consensus is that SVT has left the older rootes design behind as the twin-screw is simply a far superior piece.

Also, I would bet the house that the Cobra showing up in 2 weeks has a twin screw-under the hood, and that the final production model has one as well. I say all this to make a point, I would be surprised if there is not a twin-screw in the FPP parts catalog for the 05 Mustang.

Just one of those things that is fairly common knowledge regarding this motor. My brother has a Vorteched 2000 (I think that is the year) GT, so I've been following these motors for a while. Go over here to confirm:
http://forums.modularpowerhouse.com/index.php?

These guys probably have more experience boosting mod motors than anyone else around. Plently of stock engines running very nice setups. They have *never* lost an engine with one of their kits. 400rwhp as the limit is pretty much dogma.

Holy torque, Batman!

Numbers look good! (I assume it's an Excel graph of the actual dyno numbers, not just theoretical numbers)

Can this be used without upgrading to forged internals? I think 472hp is too much power for the stock bottom-end. What do you think.
yes, the hyperplastic, aluminum block, and powdered rods will slow the car down permanently until rebuilt

pardon my ignorance, but what do you need an air-to-water intercooler for on a screw-type supercharger. It blows air directly into the intake manifold doesn't it?

I believe this is actual dyno numbers.
This was simply what was posted on their webpage for the 05 supercharger, and it mentions a dyno, so I don't believe its theoretical..

Has anyone else noticed that the folks that have been boosting this motor were all talking about their dyno runs and how they would get back to us BUT ...

Yeah can you hear the silence? No more news or have they all popped the motors? If they have you would think that they would let us know at what amount of boost did they pop. I have been waiting for the news myself.

bump.

And I agree with you. I have noticed how quite it has been lately too. Maybe they are still making modifications, tunes etc.

I am waiting with anticipation as well and hope to start hearing back on this. Still trying to decide whether to supercharge or turbo. Will continue to patiently  wait and see.
