When did 20" tires get so cheap?

I have been looking at doing some mods with my tax return and thought springs/suspension. I Also have been unsure about about getting some 19's or 20's due to the cost of the tires.

I have been playing on tirerack and found over a dozen different tires from $106-139. That to me is amazing.

So I have been looking at a set of GT500 take offs. I have also been looking at a few sets of 20's and can not make up my mind. The gt500 set shipped would be about $900 and the 20's would be $900-1200. The low price of the 20 inch tires really brings them close together.

Since 20s and 22s started coming as OEM equipment! Even 22s are crazy, for good brands too. I got a set of 305/45/22 Yokohama Parada Spec Xs for like $150 or so!

is it odd that I seen a set of 21's and thought "wow that would be cool to have a off size like that"?

Yokohama Parada Spec Xs are very nice tires...I picked the tires and was surprised by the price when I started shopping around. They are the highest rated out of the 8 tires available on Tire Rack in that size. Great in the rain, quiet on the highway, and a nice tread pattern:

I used to pay $350 a tire for 315/35/17s, so I'm not shy when it comes to investing in rubber. Definitely don't do off-brands or cheapo stuff.

I'm running Exclaims as well, same setup except I'm running 275/35's in the rear. I've only put about 900mi on her since the new shoes and I'm loving it IMO, best tires for the price. I was expecting a huge decrease in ride comfort, but she actually drives so much better all around

Are you lowered Glenn? If so how does it ride/handle?

And like mentioned above to the OP, get the best price you can find off tirerack/etc. and go down to your local discount tire and they will beat the price 95% of the time. I got mine for $114/$154 F/R.
