HI Guys,
I have been following the UD pullies issues and one thing I have not seen yet is does the air conditioning still seem up to the task?? I guess my question is directed to you guys down south and out in the southwest. I live in Ohio so if you guys with UD pullies in the hotter climates have no issues with your air conditioning I would guess I would have no problem at all.
Thanks Scott

My A/C runs every day. It will be different once July rolls around though. It'll be mid 90's everyday.

I am in North Texas and am holding off for that exact reason. Nothin' like a Texas summer to make you regret doing something that is going to interfere with your A/C operation! Besides the fact that the A/C in the stang isn't really anything to brag about in the first place. Now in November or so, if everyone is still happy, I might consider it.

I have had them installed for 1.5K miles now and living in SoCal my A/C works fine.....I'm confused as I thought the smaller diameter of the crank pully was offset by a larger diameter water pump pully - so the belt was actually spinning at the same rpm's as b4.....isn't that why we can still use the stock "S" belt?
And other things being equal - wouldn't a smaller diameter crank pully spin faster -and thus spin your A/C and alternator even faster? I had assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the increase in water pump pully diameter offset the smaller crank diameter and the alternator pulley is no longer changed to keep it spinning the same rpm's so you don't have any voltage loss with ud pullies?

I won't do em. To me there's not enough of gain in using them. Living in the roasting desert I just can't bring myslef to mess with anything that "could" have an effect on my precious accessories.
I'm sure lot's of people here in the desert use em and love em, I'm just not one of them.

It was 82 in DC today. Ran with the windows open and the compressor off. Not too bad. If it gets hotter, I may tint my windows a bit. (This is how you run it with ud pullies and it messes up your ac )
Tech guys at the local shops are quoting only a 2 hp gain, regardless of what the manufacturer's are stating. Not worth it for the risk. :nono:

Thanks 38Special,
I appreciate your honest opinion. I will be using this car as a daily driver averaging speeds of 35 MPH. The small HP gains from the UD pullies is not worth it to me to lose the AC cooling effect. You helped me make up my mind. NO UD PULLIES. Thanks Guys
Scott
