Turn off abs

ABS is there to keep the wheels from locking up during braking. It does this by detecting that one wheel is not moving in relation to the others, typically side to side comparison, with a small amount of deviation for turning, and ONLY if the brakes are applied.
Handy on a wet road. Sucky on a track at the limits of the car's abilities, as it will affect track times.
On the road, you would not. On the track you would. Simple as that.

However, in my opinion... if you're having ABS issues on the track, you're probably not doing it right anyway... and so people turn it off because they're annoyed, not because it's better. I can't imagine any situation where locking up the wheel on the track would help... but then, I'm not a racer, just an arm chair crew chief.
/and now, I believe class will be in session on that matter, to school me, which is good, I'm always lookin' to learn.
