It won't throw a code, I don't think. I am curious as to why you'd want to do this, though, it's not a very safe thing to do.

If you tell us it's to install an auto-start, and it's a manual, then please, for the love of your fellow man, or at least your car, don't do it. Some guy did it, and wound up having the dealership 'start' it into a lake when it went in for service.

On the how, not gonna tell you. I don't think it safe, regardless of your reasons. It's there to protect you, everyone else, and the car.

/And that's all I got to say, off the soapbox now.

Just so I don't gotta be in it to start it lol no auto start. I always put my junk in the passenger side and would like to be able to start it from that side as well

Do automatics have this switch? They start right up?

Automatics do. But its a different design. That's why you can't start it in drive.

I'm guessing yours is a manual. Should just be a two wire switch connected to the clutch pedal. Either jump the switch or leave it disconnected. Not sure which way it operates.

You might be right. All it takes is to leave it in gear one time when starting and you may be regretting bypassing it though.

Just like this or atleast that is how it is done on the fox. Make a jumper wire with two spades to plug into the switch...I would advise just like the others against this. You can get a remote starter for manuals that will not allow the car to start if it is gear. bypassing it w/o some kinda safety net isn't going to end well one day jsut like the others stated.

Yep. I put a dodge Dakota into a fence once that had a bad switch. Scared the crap out of me. It should be real easy to do if it is just a two wire switch. Just unplug it and try to start. If it doesn't work, jump the connector.

Well I've had 2 previous cars this was already done to, plus all 5 vehicles I've driven/owned are manual so I'm pretty broken into putting it in neutral to start it
