I realize now that you are master debater, so I'll make one more point and concede to your stubborness. How is it that Car and Driver, Automobile, and a dozen other publications I could have quoted all reported the same info? Independent research? Not likely. Not even by luck, blind *** or otherwise. At the time the Cobras were released to the press all the info came from SVT, including interviews with John Coletti. Now maybe you don't consider him a credible source either, but then again maybe you do. Ford found that the 4.6L engine would not pass their durability tests at the level of power they required. Rather than designing a new engine they took the shorter, cheaper route of using an engine already developed for forced induction, which for the Cobra was the SVT Lightning engine which happens to have a cast iron block. I don't recall anyone making the blanket assertion that cast iron blocks are superior to aluminum, only that in this particular case Ford has determined that their production cast iron Mustang engines will live at higher horsepower levels and not drive Ford closer to bankruptcy in warranty work.

Check out the article in the lastest MM&FF mag (page 44)about the 510hp Roush P51A Mustang.
It states that internals (not the block) need to be upgraded to with stand their supercharger. Their saying its preliminary rating of 510hp and 510tq. Now that could be engine hp also, but ya know.
Also check out page 42 on the FR500S. It states that the FRPP "Aluminator" is the stock BLOCK only. But is it the 05 to 07 or is it the 08 which Ford shows being different between the two. More likely its the 08 block.

Reagardless how safe or conserative your tune is whether your running 380,420, or 500 rwhp your still putting stress on these motors. Its just the less stress(less HP) you put on the motor the longer it will last. Also driving habits determine engine span. Those words came out of my tuners mouth. At the same time I know numerous people that have ran 450+rwhp for over several years...

If it's who I THINK it is, there would be no problem with having a new motor ready to go... I just hope that they got some good data on the motor before or as it let go, or that it was part of a destructive-testing experiment, and not just a bunch of yahoos out to blow some **** up...
