I'm sure they're awesome tires but at $288 each at TireRack, wow! I couldn't justify spending $1200 for a set of tires, I don't care how good they are.

Rains a few days a year where I live so I went with a summer tire to maximize dry traction...Falken Azenis rt-615 do it do it. They're sickeningly, ridiculously sticky in the dry (when they've been warmed up)and I don't know how they are in the wet.

That is what the GT500 has from the factory up front. Just looked at one today, doesn't look too big for the tire. The 285's on the back look a little big however. I would probably agree that 275/40's are the best bet.

Go with Nitto 555s. I'm very happy with mine and run 18x9 wheels with 275/40/18 tires on all four.

Cool One of a kind GT-500

Actually this Winveil Blue GT-500 was a Ford prototype, put together and road tested by the Big Blue Oval, before the Mustang GT-500 went into production. As was seen somewhere on this very Forum a couple of years ago. Now you know the rest of the story, my fellow StangNuts!

I was just flipping through an old Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords magazine and they got their hands on a Windveil Blue stripeless GT500 as a project car. June '07 issue, page 13. Here is a blurb, "We purchased the GT500 recently, and working with the folks at Ford, even got it in our favorite "new" color, windveil blue."

Thumbs up Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S

Have a higher treadwear and are priced just right.
Check out my tire decision spreadsheet.

I'm still on Pirellis P zero neros as I got 61K out of the fronts... Just ordered a pair in 245 40 - 18 to go on a 18-inch set of the knock-off deep dish bullits. I did the 285 40 -18s in the rear.

haha, pretty cool.

Just FYI you cant compare treadwear ratings to different manufactors, it means nothing. They only are a means of checking against other tires from the same manufactor.

Thumbs up Narrowed Search to two options now

Based on Treadwear, Traction, Temp and most of all price.

BF Goodrich G-Force Super Sport A/S - 255/45/18

Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S - 255/45/18

So now it comes down to Pirelli or BF Goodrich.
The Pirelli's are $140.00 more for the set (4) of 255/45/18

Which tire would you go with ??
