Time for new rotors? Shaking...excuse for mods

I have developed a steering wheel shake at nearly all speeds over 10MPH now, not present at any time before. I've had the springs, struts, shocks, rims and tires for tens of thousands of miles now, so I'm quite sure it's not related to that. The car has 58K miles on it now, still on stock rotors and pads. Is this steering wheel shake a symptom of warped rotors? I'm thinking so from what I've read, but I'm looking for confirmation on that before I dump several hundred dollars into new rotors and pads.

But...if I'm going down that road, might as well do SS brake lines too right? So assuming that's the case, any recommendations on rotors, pads and brake lines as well?

Well if its just vibrating when driving than it is not your rotors. If it was your rotors the steering wheel would only vibrate when braking. It could be your tires are out of balance, depending on the weights you have if you have sticky weights they might have come off. Could be other things such as a Driveshaft, bad bushings, etc.

Now if you want to upgrade your brakes anyways, we have packages put together. Our packages were designed with cost and performance in mind. They are the most popular and economic Rotors, Pads, and Lines. Now we can go with cheaper rotors, or more expensive its up to you. Take a look at them and let me know if you have any questions or what you think, I can also mix and match with any other brands you might like/want.

if your tires are not out of balance then did you check for damages to the tires? Hitting potholes often?

Thanks for the replies. I'll take the car to the tire shop this weekend to get it checked out. Yes I would normally do at least initial troubleshooting myself but I had shoulder surgery and can't lay down on the ground. I feel like such a metro-sexual "I drive a used BMW and have no idea if it has 4, 6 or 8 cylinders, nor what a cylinder is, is my hair ok" lamo for that. I better wear my sling when I pull into the tire shop or they are going to make fun of me while I'm in the waiting room.

Well, the rear rotors on the GT are the same as on a rental V6 Mustang, and are a direct swap. Don't ask me how I know this...

Had the tires checked out yesterday, the drivers side front was off 2 ounces and the passenger side front was off 4 ounces. It drives like a new car now. Now, how to I justify new rotors...

Don't ask Derek how to justify it...He has a very long list to help you out.
