Those with LT's Headers

Do we need to wrap or protect our starter from the heat of the headers?

I was just wondering and wanted to see what you all have found out.

Oh... on an interesting side note, check this thread out. Even though this happened with shorties, it's the first I've heard of any "melt down" due to headers.

Yea, I saw the same thing. But the shorties he showed sit actually above the outlets from the heads, so they are closer to the battery box. Maybe some reflective tape on the bottom of the battery box?

My coated longtubes are actually cooler than the stock manifolds. Those cast iron things radiated heat for hours after shutdown. My garage thanks me

I've had the Kooks LT for a few weeks and I haven't noticed anything.

your setup is the setup that i've decided to go for, do you have any soundclips?

im trying to get a "feel" of how it sounds on startup, idle, and WOT.

I think my camera can do that, but how or where do I download the file so you can hear it? I know there are sites you can use.

No problems here. Had JBA silver ceramicoated L/T's on for almost 9 months now, and I agree, I think they cool down faster, not slower.
