Thumbs up

The only thing that bugs me about the my GT in the friggin-fraggen, TCS. It defauts on... I'd like it to default OFF and engage it when I need it.

Has anyone out in the land of Stangdom done this or even heard of it? Can a tuner do it???

Thanks in advance!

The SCT2 unit can be used to set it to "off" as the default if who wrote the tune allows that adjustability.

I have an 04 Mach 1, but yes a Tuner can do it. I had Doug@BamaChips default it to off for me. It easier for me to remember to turn it ON when needed, then to turn it off when I don't.

Hold on--so you are saying an SCT tune can default it "off" yet still allow you to turn it on? I thought all it would do is turn it off for good, without the option to turn on? This is great news if true!

Last time this was researched, once it was defaulted to off in the tune, there was no way to switch it back on with the button. The tune sent a signal to the computer to have it off no matter what.

Wait a minute I need to clarify and correct myself. I thought I had seen this on one of my adjustable parameters but it is not. It is to be end user adjustable once SCT finally gets the new release out that everybody is waiting for. If you look on their website under SCT2 details it is listed as one that can be done on custom tuning.

The firmware was supposed to be released this fall but it is behind schedule.

Sorry that I misinformed 2006GT that I had it and it was available now.

edit. P.S. Please don't beat me.

Yes, and in fact, I didn't realize I Couldn't turn it back on. I tried on way home, and yup, it's off for ftgood. I'll need to get a duplicate of my tune for those rainy days, I guess.

I'm considering this:

Traction Control Disable

From the looks of it disables the TC on startup and yet you can still disable it. It also looks like its easy to switch from allways on to allways off and toggle back and forth when driving. I'm curious if anyone has installed one or if I have to be the guinea pig.

I had my tuner turn it off but the problem was the message center always said to check gauges everytime I started the car and you had to hit the reset button which was annoying. I recently had him change it back again so it is how it came from the factory. Live and learn.

Like everyone has said here, if you have it disabled in the tune then it's off whenever that tune is loaded. That's the way it is, sorry!

Doug.

Doug... so you could disable it in my two "track" tunes for me? On the street, I don't start/stop the engine that often, so clicking it "OFF" at start up isn't too bad (although I still hate it). But, at the track, I may have to start/stop the engine many, many times while creeping through the staging lanes before a run. And every so often, I forget to turn TCS off right before the burnout. Talk about embarassing... It would be nice if the TCS was off at the track ALL the time...

p.s. are you still going to send me that item we talked about on the phone a few days ago?
