Suspension update: strut mounts, sway bars, bmr a-arm support...
hi all...
just wanted to update you all..
i got my car at Diblasi Ford which is a ford that specializes in hi perf. cars especially mustangs..they have PJ saleen, saleen extreme and shelby's on their lot.
right now, they are installing:
1. revised FORD front upper strut mounts
2. bmr a-arm support bar
3. FRPP front/rear sway bar kit
4. getting tokico d-spec/eibach pro's checked out because of noises
I also.ordered:
-Agent 47 Strut tower brace
-Steeda Frame Rails to increase chassis rigidity.
I'll update you when those are installed.
i found out that the bmw Z4 and E46 M3 have torsional rigidity of about 10,000 ft/lbs and S197 mustang is 7500 ft/lbs
i hope i can get the stang close to that...
thanks all....

Yao... I don't think you will have to worry about cracking the floorpan with the addition of the Steeda Torque Box Frame Rails. And, as for ripping out the subframes, there have been many post on this site about the new S-197 body being strong enough to take the punishment. So, you shouldn't be concerned with that either. Certainly without 500+ RWHP.
I will be interested to know what, if anything, they find out about your noise problem.
You have some nice parts going into you car... I'm sure you're going to be pleased with the car when you get it back.
How do you determine/test the torsional rigidity of a car... I would be curious to know what the torsional rigidity of my stang is.
Bobby M.

i hope i get all the noises out of the rear suspension area. it sounded like the springs werent seated right and i heard clanking sounds at low speeds over bumps. SO SO annoying.
thanks for the vote of confidence! i just hope the stang feels and rides close to a solid more expensive feeling car....right now i feel like the body twists and warps over bumps and rough roads.
i actually dont know how they determine chassis torsional rigidity...i just read about the information.
thanks again bobby!

Yao, let us know if you get the noises out of the suspension. I have BMR sways front and rear, CHE upper and lower control arms, and Steeda torque box braces. The car handles great, and some of the suspension noises are gone with all the tightening up, but some are still there.

my quest to make this car feel world class
